Homemade Panda Bread

Is it possible for bread to be adorable? If anything could make us think so, it's this loaf of bread we spied at Perfect Pandas. Actually more like a cross between cake and bread, it involves cocoa, green tea powder, and some pretty nifty dough-origami (dough-rigami?) techniques. Keep reading for photos and the recipe...

Talk about your longtail effect. The original recipe was posted at Perfect Pandas a year and a half ago, but it seems to be making the rounds of the internet circuit yet again. We stumbled across it at The Daily What.

I didn't think of mold.

But I am sure instead of green tea you can use blue food coloring or blueberry juice to dye the green section.

That's just about the cutest thing ever! I remember seeing it a while back, but forgot about it. Now I pretty much have to make it. Bread? And pandas? Yes, please!

well when i think of pandas i think of green bamboo, their natural habitat, so i see nothing gross or moldy ..whatever...i see a very creative, cute, adorable way of baking, i wish we have more of these creations.

I agree...look at photos of pandas. They're surrounded by GREEN! Hence the use of the tea, methinks!

I think you can use taro, and your panda can be in a purple surround.
