She made a small quilt (10" x 10") and then covered buttons with fabric. Not only do we think this is much more attractive than a cardboard and plastic checkers set, the fabric board will roll up and travel easily and the buttons pieces can come along in a Ziploc.

I was just about to say, all you need is a sewn in pocket on the other side to put the pieces, and maybe a tie, or button closure and its a complete set for travel or to store. very nice!
