Look! Rainy Day Fun and Simple Things

Often the most memorable play times are those which are completely spontaneous and occur organically with things we already have in the home. During a recent cold, all together blah day, our son decided he was going to construct an ersatz drum set.

From that drum set, sprung forward a drumming contest where several of his stuffed animals were the contestants.

Of course, the contestants needed prizes. The prizes included a ribbon, a trophy constructed from LEGOs and a certificate which Vincent dictated what it should read. A sleepy afternoon led to an hour of laughter, imagination and fun.

The next time you're at home with "nothing" to do, look around and rediscover what you already have and search together for possibilities you haven't considered.
