"Paint the walls Tangerine, max out storage, and add kid friendly artwork." That is Dawn's advice on creating a shared, small space that works for older children- in this case, her two girls- ages 3 and 4, who joined her family this past September from Ethiopia.

I love the round bookcase. Where is it from? And the table?

The round bookcase is from allchildrensfurniture.com. I picked the table up at Room and Board. It was a floor sample. It also is available at allchildrensfurniture.com.

congrats on the arrival of your daughters! i echo the love of the rickrack -- and the birdhouse art is cute too. very cheerful room. storage is the bane of our existence with two older girls (3 and 6) in a small bedroom, so i like seeing how you're handling it. what normally goes in those orange container store mesh cubes, which seem to be empty (or nearly so) in the pix?

Congratulations to all of you!
I love how warm the colours are, and how you've mixed them all in such a way that the room is colourful without being garish. I'm sure that it's a bit of culture shock for your little girls to be in a new country and experiencing fall and winter for the first time. It seems to me that this colour scheme is really sensitive to that. Was that your intention when you decorated the room?

What a great room! I love how you mix and matched the chairs at the table. I also like that you used two beds at similar heights, your girls will have a blast bouncing from one to the other.
