Looking through old photos of our son's early months, we found this image of his play/work area in the living room. Inspired by Maria Montessori's philosophy, rather than keep him confined to a swing or playpen, we prepared a special environment just for him.
By setting up a large gym mat in our living room with a few toys (which we would rotate) and a support pillow, he was able to explore his environment and be a part of it. While we would sit in the living room, our son would happily sit in his own area enjoying his tummy time, toys and being content in an open space created just for him.

Totally cute, and the right idea, done it for all of ours; but sure hope that rock doesn't fall! (I know it's old and I'm sure your adorable child is just fine), but.........I would've been way too paranoid to have what looks to me like a rock tied on the wall right above where my baby is playing, but maybe that's just me. :)
