Have you ever wondered what lies beneath your kids' cuddly, plush robots? This glimpse beneath shows that some are quite simple and others are simply creepy.
Web and industrial designer Matt Kirkland's curiosity got the better of him and he decided to undress, so to speak, some popular plush robot toys to examine their technological skeletons. There's a lot of variety in their complexity, but mostly we found them to be somehow disturbing. See the whole gallery here.
We are wondering, however, if one might attempt a subversive robot makeover ala this project. Any takers?

Fun post, but hopefully people don't have more than a couple of these lying around, especially if they've got kids under three. Toys without batteries encourage pretend play, which is a component of language and cognitive development.
