If you've ever been frustrated by the fact that most alphabetical toys and games stick pretty closely to the English alphabet, then you should check out Toypography. It's a set of blocks whose many free-form shapes are designed to create any English or Japanese character. We're willing to bet that with a little ingenuity you could delve into other languages, too.
Created by the Dainippon Type Organization, each set of Toypography blocks forms a word in both English and Japanese -- your choice of bear, bird, fish, monkey, tiger, horse and rabbit. The pieces are also a puzzle that can be assembled to form the same creature.
The tricky part is figuring out how to order a set, since the site is largely written in Japanese. Any tips from our readers?

I also find this site via Yahoo Japan:

It's about $100, which seems pricy...maybe I'll tell my parents about it. Grandparents might see it differently ;p
