Good Questions

mole090909.jpgQ: There is a small children's cartoon that I watched as a kid that I stumbled upon recently. It is AMAZING for kids 18 months and up. I know that children younger than 2 yrs are not supposed to watch any TV, but these cartoons are short and perfect for kids that are working their language skills....

The MOLE or Krtek is a Czech cartoon that was super popular in Eastern Europe, Germany, Austria, Japan, Canada. So I want help in finding the entire series on DVDs, please check him out on You Tube and any suggestion for a vendor in US, Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Ana,

as a kid I used to watch the German Sesame street where Krtek was part of the whole show. I LOVED it so much.
My recent trip to Prague reminded me of the good old days as all of their toy shops are full of that little character. I just did a search on Google and found many others looking for DVDs and they do exist http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-a7-49-en-70-z6q.html. On that particular page it seems to be sold out though, but I have seen it on other web sites as well. Just to give you a heads up, if you do get a hold of it, make sure you can watch the DVDs (pal vs. ntsc).
If you are interested in getting other krtek goodies, I wouldn't mind getting them for you on ebay. Let me know and good luck.

I watched the Kleiner Maulwurf on Sunday mornings growing up in Germany. Good memories...

I just checked and the German amazon page (www.amazon.de) has the DVDs (as well as a bunch of other krtek goodies). If you have a DVD player that can handle region 1 and 2, that might be a source for you.

It's available in Belgium and Holland as well (called 'molletje'). It's made by Zdeněk Miler. More info here: http://www.kindertv.net/index.php/component/content/2164?task=view (in dutch...).

I have one DVD at home, and all my children love it!
