apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Beansoup Aprons

We spent a lot of time in the kitchen growing up - both observing and, later, as sous chef to mom or dad. When we got to college and shared an apartment with a kitchen with three others we were shocked that most of them couldn't cook even the simplest things. So we're strong proponents of getting kids into the kitchen and interested in food and cooking at an early age. An apron, while not a necessity, makes kids feel like time in the kitchen is special.

We really like the apron selection at Beansoup - they're the kind of aprons we would make if we had the time ourselves. They make three styles - the Cobbler Apron (top left), $34, the Chef Apron, $26 (top right) and the long Overall Apron, $26 (above). They come in both toddler and child sizes. You can order them directly from Beansoup or find them at these stores.

Looking for a new apron for yourself? The Kitchn recently showed off some aprons ideal for hot kitchens and the hot political primary contest - see them here and here.

Williams-Sonoma has (or had last week) a few cute children's aprons on sale, personalized for $6-$8 depending on the design you like. I think Internet only.

I meant $6 to $8 total for the apron AND personalization.
