They're BPA and lead free, bacteria resistant, and made of dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer...AND microwave safe silicon. We're pretty smitten with these little storage jars from Kinderville...

They also sell bowls and cups, but the jars seem the most useful to us. So easy to toss in the lunch box or diaper bag and so versatile, not to mention kinda cute.
You can read more about them on the Kinderville website and get a set of four for about $25 at The Soft Landing.
Anyone tried these yet?
I've seen these before (online) and they look really useful. If anyone has them, can you comment on how snugly the lids fit onto the jars? I'm afraid if I tossed one in my son's lunch that it would open all over.

Check out Z Recommends' review & videos to see how well they work and the situation in which they open unexpectedly:

Thanks for the z recommends' link! It was really helpful in showing how it might open in transit.

I have silicone bakeware. they are really hard to keep clean. No matter how I clean them, they always feel greasy. Of course, I don't have a dishwasher, but I do wash dishes in extremely hot water.
