Sommar Popsicle Maker

sommarpopsicleIKEA.jpgOn a recent trip to Ikea, we found a new item that just screamed summer -- it was the Sommar popsicle maker.

The Sommar is a steal at only $2.49. It comes in two color combinations and can make six popsicles at a time.

What we love about the Sommar, however, is how easy and fun it was to make popsicles with our son. We combined orange juice and mango chunks in two of the molds; blueberry yogurt, raspberries and milk were blended together and put into two other molds; and for the last two popsicles we blended organic chocolate cookies, chocolate chips and milk for an Oreo-inspired treat.

What are your favorite homemade popsicle combinations?

peaches and raspberries blended... Ah-mazing.

Um... and i don't have kids.

So i also like to but the storebought lime ones and dip them in tequila and salt (great for after bedtime?)

I'm not a huge popsicle fan, but the Oreo one sounds pretty damn good.

My mom used to make popsicles in her Tupperware molds - using Jello to some degree. They were awesome!!

My mom always made them using Tupperware, too! The only flavors we ever had, for some reason, were chocolate pudding and orange juice. Mmm, happy summertime memories.
