Thinkbaby Feeding Set

2008-12-08-thinkbaby.jpg

We covet this. We've amassed a terrific collection of baby and toddler tableware both for meals at home and when we're on the go, but like any true collector, the hunting and gathering never ends. Our next acquisition will be the feeding set by Thinkbaby. Thinkbaby was one of the early manufacturers who came out with BPA-free bottles.

The feeding set is not only BPA-free, but also free of phthalates, PVC, lead and melamine. The interior of each of piece is made of food-grade stainless steel and the exterior is wrapped in polypropylene for insulation (but which doesn't come into contact with the food).

The set includes a bento box (which we love), a baby bowl with lid, a deeper soup bowl with lid, a cup, and a spoon in fork. All pieces are dishwasher (top rack) safe, but because of the stainless steel, you can't microwave. The set is selling for $42 but is not yet available; you can get on a waiting list.

Read more about the Thinkbaby feeding set or sign up for the waiting list here.

Thanks for tip, Angela!

I'd like that a lot better without the logo hugely plastered all over it...

I love the bento box idea, but I too wish that they didn't have their logo plastered all over it like the tchotchkes that pharmaceutical reps give to doctors. :-\

I'm also thinking that those two bowls look a little, er, . . . dog-food-bowl-esque?

I was not a big fan of Think Baby bottles compared with Born Free.

And now I am even more disappointed. These look like dog food bowls or at best a dish set for camping. I also agree with EllenE that a little less logo might be an improvement.

i want to be able to warm the food for ten seconds in the microwave and then feed it to her without having to clean two different plates.

Thanks for the early comments. Sort of surprised by some of them to be honest, as they aren't based on seeing the set. And everyone that has seen from parents to retailers has been so excited about the set.

In future versions, we will take into consideration that the size of the logo.

It is thinkbaby's strong recommendation that parents NOT put anything in the microwave for children. The way microwaves heat can be potentially harmful at a number of levels. First, plastic can develop hot spots that are undetectable to the eye. You could easily reach in and grab molten plastic or worse hand it to your child. Second, the microwave does not heat evenly, so what you touch may not be the true temperature of what you're about to feed you child. Finally, due to the high heat, materials, formulas or other contents can potentially undergo chemical changes, producing harmful chemicals.

We sought to create a highly sustainable line of feeding products that are devoid of toxic chemicals. This set will last through not only your first child, but also the second. And many parents have said that it will also be useful to them for storage and travel. Most of the feeding sets on the market are made from cheap plastic or from Melamine, which is a chemical that we made sure was also not present in our line.

So far, we have had nothing but extremely positive comments from all of the people that have tested and used the new line.
We hope that you'll give it a try.
