Unicahome

unicahome-TOPpic.jpgunicalogo-TOP.gifOn our first visit to the Unicahome Web site, we were so into our browser window shopping, we hadn't noticed that 40 minutes had passed. There's such a great selection of cool and unusual items, we kept finding more and more things that made us do a happy dance.

Their kids' stuff section features fine toys, art items, books, furniture, lighting and more. Here are a few of our favorites...

We are in love with the Yoshimoto Nara drinking glasses, $17.50. Each glass, available in three different sizes, features his well-known Ramona character.

It's no secret that Marimekko is a favorite around here and this Unikko tray, $25, is sure to become yet one more addition to our list. Made from laminated plywood, this little tray is the perfect holder for lotions or powders in the nursery, or just for display.

A tiny art collectible, b.wing's Happy Birthday music box, $33, is signed by the artist and plays "Happy Birthday, of course. A great birthday present for adult and child alike -- especially fans for Tim Burton fans.

Admirers of the Automoblox will probably enjoy the Playsam streamliner rally, $56. This Scandinavian beauty is so alluring with its gloss and glamour, it's hard to remember that it's for the kids, not for you.

Ohashi & Haneda's animal rubber bands, $7.50, will probably be the first rubber bands you'll ever want to hold on to. Coming in "pet" or "zoo" selections, these bands keep their shape after use and will liven up any arts & craft area.

Ever wanted to own a Tizio? Now you can build one with this great designer emulation kit by Mark McKenna. It's the world's tiniest Tizio!

Welcome to the House of Balls, $59. Vilac's fun marble run will keep toddlers and preschoolers fascinated and could be the smallest Rube Goldberg contraption we've ever seen.

Our other favorites include the Keith Haring pull toy, $72; Eames' House of Cards, $25; and the 3-D doodle kits and drawing pads, $6.

Besides the usual forms of payment (cash, credit cards, magic beans) Unicahome also accepts Paypal. And if you're in Las Vegas be sure to stop by their store and see all of this and more in living color.

Unica has great items. However, I've had many problems with their customer service. And from the research I've done, it sounds like they're not quite known for their service. Just a friendly warning.

They have a wonderful website. That's where the praise ends. Please be very careful when purchasing from this store. I wish I had seen this link before the headache I went through with them.
