The Innocence Mission Lullaby CD

2007-06-18-innocence mission.jpg

Getting tired of your lullaby CD? Or maybe you're at that point where you're even wondering if your baby is tired of it? We have a great recommendation for you. The Innocence Mission is a band we discovered last winter. They played a show here in Brooklyn with Denison Witmer- another great artist and friend of Sufjan Stevens.

We liked their soft, folk sound immediately. Don's voice reminded us of Simon and Garfunkel, and Karen has an ethereal quality about her voice that we love. So...we were even more excited when we realized they had done a lullaby CD a few years back.

The CD is called "Now the Day is Over." It's full of some of our favorite classics redone so tastefully. Have a listen over at Amazon. A couple of our favorite tracks: What a Wonderful World and Edelweiss.

A portion of the proceeds is donated to children's charities, and you can also purchase it at Land of Nod. So...if you've been on the hunt for something soothing and beautiful to send baby off to dreamland- check out The Innocence Mission. And...don't forget to give their other albums a try too. Buy it: here for just sixteen bucks.

We've had this since Travis was a newborn, and it is so soothing. He absolutely adores it.

You can get it through the Apple Music Store, as well. I don't have children YET, but I may get it just for myself! Beautiful.

A friend who doesn't have children gave this to me when I was pregnant with my second child-it was such a thoughtful gift. She warned me not to use it while driving, it is THAT soothing.

I don't have any children and I bought this CD for myself! Very soft and relaxing without being cutesy.
