My Great Outdoors: Kristin's Fairy Garden

2009greatoutdoorsbadge.gifName: Kristin::Prairie Daze
Location: North Newton, Kansas
Type of space: Back Yark Nook

Tell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it: Our fairy garden was a wonderful project for my three children to do together (ages 4,7 and 11). Most of the time is spent finding items and creating rooms or spaces.

How did you create it?:
Using found objects from the recycling tub, nature, and the trash, a fairy garden was created. The most exciting part is us sprinkling glitter at the end...encouraging the fairies to stop by. The photos here show one of the many fairy gardens we've made.

Recommended store, site, product or resource?
We like to use re-purposed items. of course we could find a playmobil or lego table, but isn't a bottle cap and stone a better fairy table? we could have used craft sticks for a fence, but the long pieces from our mulch look much more fairy-esque. :)

the photos are all close ups. Would love to see some overall shots to get a better feel for it. Love what I see though!

OMG - tell your kids I LOVE their creativity...I thought I saw a fairy peeking out of the little pumpkin house.

Really - thanks, kids, for reminding grownups how great it is to be a kid - and for showing us where the fairies live....

you guys rock.

I like what we see. But I'd like to see the whole thing.
