My Great Outdoors: The Danish Ambassador's Garden Paradise

2009greatoutdoorsbadge.gifName: Friis Arne Petersen, Danish Ambassador to the United States, and his family
Location: Washington, DC
Type of space: Garden, terrace, swimming pool
How did you do it?: The Embassy building and residence was designed by Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in 1947. The garden playhouse and soccer nets were added for the Ambassador's children. The playhouse has a Danish flag, of course.

The swimming pool is for the Embassy staff. The Danish Embassy was the first modern Embassy buildling in Washington, DC and was officially opened in 1960.

Recommended store, site, product or resource? The white marble is from Greenland. The materials represent Danish design and architecture.

So beautiful. I am sorry the US Ambassador's Residence here in Kuala Lumpur is not so thoughtfully designed.
