Tell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it:
My family lives in the Historic West End of Atlanta. Our community has tons of gardens and urban farms. Many of my neighbors understand the importance of growing local food. I moved to ATL from NYC so gardening is NEW to me. This is our first garden. I'm discovering a whole new world! I thought I'd share and maybe inspire others to re-connect with the land. This has been a wonderful experience, especially for Diego (our 3 year old).

How did you create it?:
I worked with my sons Keanu (14) and Diego (3). My mom and sister (Keyla) contributed during their visit to Atlanta. We build the boxes (planters). I talked to other gardeners via Freedom Gardens, FB, local community gardens (Rose Circle Garden). I asked a lot of questions. I got seeds from other gardeners and plants from Oakhurst Community Garden. Then-I just jumped in and tried it!

Very inspiring :)
The Historic West End and Westview communities are really on the move- families, like yours, are making these neighborhoods the next in-town Atlanta "Hot spot" for relocation.
Hey, is Diego offering training? My girls would love an opportunity to play in the dirt-lol..
