My Party: Zoe
New Jersey

Susan kindly shared these photos of Zoe's big first birthday bash. She says: So my daughter's first birthday has come and gone. Such a huge milestone. Since this was going to be her first birthday celebration and since we're Korean (1st birthday's are a big deal) I knew a lot of thought and planning had to go into this. I'm a diy-er so I made...

...the birthday banners, the cupcake stand, the dol go-ims (the small pillars that get placed on the center table), the centerpieces made of Similac bottles, and basically all the decor. My mother-in-law had purchased a hanbok (traditional Korean dress) for Zoe on her last trip to Korea for this occasion.

My sisters and friends helped make the cookie favors and the birthday cupcakes. A friend of ours also printed up 12 photos of Zoe on foam board. Each one to represent each month of her first year. The bad news is that Zoe was running a fever and was not in a festive mood. I'm usually the one behind the lens but I knew I'd be pretty occupied that day so we hired a friend to take photos of Zoe's special day so that we could remember it forever.

Thanks, Susan!

We love a good party! We just put together a new "My Party" Submission Form. If you'd like to share the good ideas and photos from your child's celebration with the Ohdeedoh community please submit through the form found right here.

Please share how you made the go-ims? What are they made of inside, and what kind of candy did you use on the outside? Thanks!

What a great party, and what a beautiful little girl. I'm sure Zoe looked adorable in her tiny little hanbok. I love your paper flowers. Can I ask what the dol go-ims are, exactly? They're very cool.

I also love the cupcake stand - they look so beautiful...did you make the stand? If so, how? Your daughter is beautiful!
