Blogging The NYT: Playhouse For Parents

Treehouse envy. This week's NYT House & Home section featured treehouses and clubhouses as refuges for adults and children...or maybe just adults.

Much of the difficulty in having children in a small space is that they and their stuff occupy what once was the exclusive province of the adults. It seems adults are striking back to stake a claim in what was once territory meant only for children.

This clubhouse was featured, among others, as being designed for children but roomy enough for adults.

Maybe our previous post on the large playhouse phenomenon in the Bay Area didn't tell the whole picture. What seems like grossly large playhouses for kids are really just tiny retreats for their parents(?)

Those with yards or a large sturdy tree tell us what you think.
