Check your Boppy Cover! Boppy Luxe covers (velvet or boa fabric) have been voluntarily recalled by Boppy after an internal audit of their products found that the zippers were both a potential choking hazard and contained lead paint.
This only applies to the Luxe covers. If you own one, stop using it and contact Boppy for replacement information. For more information, visit Boppy or the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
They do take a very long time with the exchange process of these covers however.

Makes me wonder about the zipper on our regular cover. Has it really been checked for lead paint? Eek.

I'll be a first time mom in January and was freaked out that I bought 3 weeks ago from Target what looks like the same boppy cover posted. However, I cut the tag off and couldn't verify. Now I know why they say not to cut those things off. I called the hotline and described my cover and since I cut the tag off, they said to send in the questionable boppy cover (on them, of course) and they would mail me a new "safe" one in 2 -3 weeks.

oh goodness, all these recalls are making my head spin. i'm using this type of boppy to nurse my 5-month-old several times a day and nursed my older son on it for more than a year. i guess i'll nurse on a naked boppy while my new one comes in. not really a good option since my baby drools a lot.
