As a new parent of 4 month old Ursula, I am proud to introduce our newest baby blog, The Nursery.
Even before Ursula arrived, I worked with many new parents and was extremely aware of how a new child changes your home - for better and for worse. It was clear to me how important it is to maintain a functional, beautiful space that inspires you every day. It was also clear that it is very, very hard.
We're now here to help...
As with all the AT blogs, this one is devoted to supporting the home, but it takes special aim that part of the home that is occupied by babies and small children.
We are extremely lucky to have found an amazing team to sort through all that is good out there and blog the best. Introducing Amara Holstein, Janie Sheng, Kristin Thomas, and Julia Cho.
Hailing from the West Coast, the Midwest and the East, this savvy team is going to be blogging all the good ideas and resources they find on the web, in the news, in magazines and on television. Nothing is sacred, everything is fair game.
In addition, we want to know what makes your Nursery work for you. We want to know your favorite tips, treasures and achievements, the stuff that makes you love your home AND your children. Please don't be shy, your comments, emails, photos and suggestions are all welcome. It is the spirit of community, the mutual respect and support that really makes Apartment Therapy work.
Now, here we go!
Wow. fantastically refreshing.
Ursula -- welcome to the blogosphere!
No babies yet, but love this section of the site. I think all the primary colors and rounded shapes make me happy. Good Luck with this new adventure!
Ursula is so cute!!
Perfect timing. I'm trying not to give in to the urge to move into a bigger apartment.
(1bdrm, 550sq. ft, almost 6mo. old)

Great idea. Welcome! Hope you do some stuff on older kids rooms and products for them too.
Whoo hoo! Congratulations on the launch, and three cheers for the new kids on the AT block!
How fun! Many best wishes and I can't wait to see what we all can find and share.
Yipeeeeee - just in time for me to start thinking of how to combine a 4 month old and a 4 year old into one room. I just know it won't all be about baby pink curtains and little sheep wallpaper borders (ok, it'd better not.) Congrats. on the new section, I just know it will be successful.
What timing! I'm 22 weeks along with my first baby, and trying to figure out how to carve out space for him in our 800 sf Chicago apartment. Can't wait to learn from the best at AT!
ditto on k's comments... those of us with older kids also need and want tips on style.. especially for boys' rooms. It seems like there is a ton of affordable cute stuff for girls out there (I secretly want it for myself but my husband would never go for it) but nothing for boys that isn't sports or cartoon-related.
Congrats to the new AT nursery editors!
Can't wait to see what they find...
i have a 4 month old too and i can't wait to check in and see what ideas you post about here!
29 wks pregnant, very happy about this part of the blog! Ursula is a major cutie!
Love this new addition to AT ... question for all: how old is too old and how small is too small? We are 50 and 53 in 550 sq ft on the LES and seriously considering adoption of a toddler/pre-schooler. A shared bedroom seems the only possibility for us. Thoughts on this, please! We own our co-op and adore our apartment..high ceilings, on a private park, great neighbors, great place for kids. Has anyone ever done a re-do of our sq footage to accomodate a young child? Any input most welcome!
LBB,
You might want to read the series of posts on Apartment Therapy from last summer that chronicled the re-do of our 265sqft apartment in anticipation of the birth of Ursula.

Now, keep in mind this was in order to accomodate an infant, and a walking, talking, grabbing toddler is a whole different story. But given the fact that your place is twice the size of ours, I'd definitely say it's possible.
Private park?... forget it, you're set!
Welcome to the Nursery!
