We're staying away from battery operated toys. But baby is still a bit young for pretend toys; and he wants action and movement.

So we were delighted to come upon the solar-powered offerings at Estella.

This solar-powered helicopter tops our list of must-haves. The helicopter blades spin when exposed to a beam of light, whether natural or from a bulb.

Made of birch wood, the helicopter comes in red or blue and is $35.

This wooden solar-powered windmill is another one we're fond of.

Place it on a windowsill or elsewhere where it can catch the light and watch the blades spin. It's also $35.

For something less traditional, try this solar-powered windmill. Reminds us of the fields of wind turbine generators on the way to Palm Springs.

Estella has many more offerings including the Bugaboo Bee, available for pre-order now.

So cute!

I wish the seller posted more information about the windmill, as it gives me a notion about a Project...
