# 1 - Isabella's Magical Mural Room

Name: Isabella Bianca, 14-months-old
Location: Chicago, Illinois

Why I chose these colors for the nursery:
As I thrived to create an enchanting yet functional environment for a child, I looked into nature and the psychology of colors for inspiration.

I used green for its calming refreshing effects, blue to stimulate productivity while still tranquil and small elements in sunny happy yellows for a positive cheerful disposition. These colors have been used repeatedly in the window treatments, furniture, bedding and accessories in way that this colorful and vibrant room still has a cohesive design.

Yellow and blue accents can be found throughout the room and the mural to further stimulate intellectual activity and exploration, while green is remains the predominant color. I have used the primary colors of blue, yellow and red in a few places on the mural as well as the secondary and tertiary ones to teach color creation. The mural features silly animals, birds, trees, grass, flowers and sun – all can be educational as well as cheerful.

I believe that each child deserves a magical childhood full of fun, color and happiness- start with their room décor!

Two Good Color Tips:
1. Don't be afraid of bold colors- just use them strategically and in a cohesive manner.

2. For a child's room, I will recommend using semi-gloss paint so that you can wipe off unexpected 'creations' from the walls more easily.

Very refreshing color scheme. It's extremely lively but also restful. I can see a baby getting good sleep in here.
