We'd like to offer a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Nursery's first Color Contest! We received so many exciting and colorful entries from moms and dads around the country and around the world. And, of course, we received whole-hearted participation from our faithful readers who cast their votes and left their comments.
We'd also like to send our hearty THANKS to Spunky Sprout for their generous contest sponsorship. The fresh, stylish and, yes, colorful finds at Spunky Sprout prove a great pairing for the the Colors Contest and we're so appreciative of their support.

First place: Sam's Chocolate Crash Pad
Quotes from the judges on Sam's room:
I thought the use of color was terrific - dark chocolate walls and white furniture as the backdrop and then dashes and pops of color all around the room keep it lively and fresh.
I love how the all of the accessories in the room, from the Ugly Dolls, to the animal decals give the room a light feel which playfully contrasts the darkness of the chocolate.
Dark brown almost seems antithetical to a child's room, but combining it with shades of green, blue and orange not only make those colors stand out, but makes the chocolate modern and striking.
Read on to see who garnered second and third place honors!

Second place: Baby-O's Ode to Color
Quotes from the judges on Baby-O's room:
The blue is so fresh- there is a lot of energy and excitement in this space.
This room is bright and airy and has so many personal touches, I love the warmth the room emits made even warmer by the beautiful blue walls.
A perfect example of how to beautifully use textiles to add both color and style to a room.

Third place: Harriet's Apple Green Getaway
Quotes from the judges on Harriet's room:
It's sassy, unexpected and at the same time very classic with its dark woods.
Very nice pairing of a crisp apple green and bright pink with brown as an anchor. I like the grown-up artwork in the nursery too.
The green is bold, and yet not over-powering. The secondary colors - chocolate, white, and pink - give the room an atmosphere that is warm, soft, and clean. It feels perfect for a nursery without being at all cliche.
Congratulations to our winners and to everyone who shared their colorful rooms with us!
Congratulations to the top 3 — they're really beautiful rooms.
Congrats to ALL of the 15 contestants. I think everyone's a winner in their own unique way!

Thanks so much, AT, for putting this contest together. It has been a fun, and much welcomed distraction from our adoption process!
Congrats to the other finalists and winners! I really enjoyed peeking inside of everyone's nursery.
