Best of Sears

2008-02-27-sears.jpg

We saw a commercial on tv for Sears the other day and realized it had been a long time since we took a look at Sears - their softer side or otherwise. Would their kids' stuff seem dated? Had they hopped on the kids' design wagon yet? We don't live near one, but a visit to their website didn't do too much to dispel our earlier impression. However, as long as we were doing the legwork we thought we'd pass on some of the items that did make an impression.

(sorry, the small photo is the best we could do.)

Bookshelves (in white or blue), small, $80 or large, $130.

BassettBaby Timber Creek Changing Table, Heirloom Oak, $170.

Have you had any great finds at Sears?

Thank you! I've been looking for a low profile bookcase in that price range. I'm ordering it today!

thanks for this post - i haven't seen anything quite like that storage bench so far. that would even make a great "grown-up" ottoman if it came in more colors!

much of this seems a little pricey for sears, but i do love that self-standing bookcase and the price seems reasonable. i'm envisioning it in my daughter's room! i am learning the hard way that the traditional bookcase can get quite messy with my toddler, who thankfully loves books, constantly pulling books from it. he puts them away (mostly) but the books are still in messy piles. anyone have any experience with this type of bookcase featured here? is it easier/better for kids than traditional bookcases?
