apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

From Changing Table to Bar Cart
Ohdeedoh in Europe

childwoodchanging.jpgIs it just me, or does this austere wheeled changing table look like a bar cart with a baby on top? Here's a changing table that is so plain and unassuming, that you can easily repurpose it once the baby is no longer in diapers.

childwoodchanging2.jpgThe table, from Belgian company Childwood, comes in taupe and plain wood. Once the baby no longer needs it, use the wheeled three-tiered table as a bar or tea cart; to store towels in the bathroom; as a side table to hold your printer or other electronics in the office; or as a landing strip in a small entryway. It works as is or can be painted for a fresh look.

More from Childwood here.

Yup, Better Homes and Gardens did a small feature on this in which they remade/repurposed three items, one of which was a changing table. And the reverse happens. Daddytypes reports on parents who've converted garage utility carts or tool carts into changing tables.

Yup, I could see doing something like this with an IKEA kitchen cart.

While I love the idea of a changing table that morphs into a big-kid dresser, the thought of serving food on an item that previously hosted poopy diapers just grosses me out.

I bought the cart Daddytypes suggested before #2 was born and we love it. He's almost outgrown it, and now we're trying to figure out its new purpose. It was really inexpensive and looks really great (we got the red one) - here's the link to the post about it http://tinyurl.com/65ffub
