Hot Tip: Karbon Chair from EQ3

karbon-chair.jpgIf you love the look of the Monte Luca glider, but it's not quite in your budget, EQ3 has added the new Karbon Chair to its offerings. Ohdeedoh reader Jennifer gave it an in-store test drive before ordering one for herself. Here's what she had to say...

Jennifer wrote in to give us her opinion:

I actually think the Karbon is much more comfortable than either chair [the Luca Glider and Room and Board's Krofton glider] and hundreds cheaper. The back is really high and the chair makes you want to sit back and fall asleep. Unfortunately, the website doesn't give as much information as the catalog (which can be viewed via pdf). In the catalog, there is a profile picture as well and pricing for the chair with the glider base (starts at $499, depending on the fabric chosen). We ordered the chair in a nubby gray material. We'll see how it turns out!

Readers who are interested in the Karbon chair should note that the glider base is optional, so you'll want to specify if you should order a chair for yourself. The chair can also be customized with a wide variety of fabric choices.

okay... i have been debating on whether or not to purchase the luca glider and this seems like a perfect and much more reasonable substitute! please send a post of your chair when you receive it!!! i am dying to see what it looks like with the fabric on! which fabric exactly did you order? did they tell you which one was the most kid friendly?

I haven't seen this one, but I do have a luca glider and ottoman, and I absolutely love it! I highly recomend it, and well worth the extra money.

I use it everyday. I feed in it, and when our baby is fussy and crying, the gliding motion sooths her. It was our best purchase.

toker, do you, by chance, know how the luca glider compares with the dutalier cadenza in terms of comfort? unfortunately, i can't test out the luca glider myself. the dutalier cadenza is extremely comfortable and a little cheaper than the luca glider, but i find the luca glider more pleasing to the eye. in the end though, i want what's the most comfortable.

I ordered the karbon chair in the the Flash material and the color Dust. It's a nubby dark gray polyester material that I saw on a different chair in the showroom and loved. The ultrasuede materials are always considered very kid-friendly (and cheaper than the other custom materials offered), but the sales people mentioned that all of the material choices are treated for stain resistance. There are many more material choices available in the showroom that aren't mentioned on the website link. I'll definitely post when we get the chair (should be ready sometime in early December).

I happened upon the Karbon chair after browsing the LAZAR Industries offerings for swivel gliders. Wondering about the swivel glider base--does it add height to the chair? Does it remain more or less hidden, or can you see it? I like the Modernstar swatches, though it's hard to really get a good look with those small pics. [The EQ3 site could use some work!] Hoping to read further reviews here. Thanks.

My wife and I are very interested in the Karbon chair, but there are not any EQ3 showrooms in our area. Can anyone vouch for the quality and comfort of the chair? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I was looking for a place to buy the Karbon chair and ultimately found a place in NYC that sells it. Metro Sleek Design in Brooklyn, NY carries EQ3
