Have you seen the Karlstad Swivel Chair from IKEA? Well Ohdeedoh reader Kelly has and she wrote us an email to tell us about it. The Karlstad not only swivels, but it rocks too. There's an adjustable rocker function which makes this a good option for parents looking for a high back chair for the nursery.

My husband and I loved this and tried it out in the store - the back is very stiff (I felt like it needed more cushioning), but it does have a very high-end look for such an affordable chair.

Saw it in the store and was underwhelmed. Perhaps the floor model had been overwhelmed by constant use, but it seemed rather blah. I just didn't like the shape.
I'll give them credit, they tried.

I just saw this in the As-Is section of IKEA Tempe, Arizona. I was also underwhelmed - it didn't seem comfy enough for nursing, and it wasn't set up for rocking. The indentation in the arm rest towards the rear was perfect for nursing or bottle feeding, though. All in all, it wouldn't be my top choice, and would need a pillow or two in the lumbar area for support, but it was pretty cool looking. (The one in IKEA Tempe was 30% off and orange, if anyone's interested.)

Then again, the Poang chair I wound up buying for the nursery (budget wise I was limited to that or the Lillberg Rocker) wasn't my "top choice," either, so for someone who prefers the look of this chair, it's a good option.

I just sat in one this weekend at IKEA. Like others, I thought it was really stiff and felt a bit cheap to me. I'm a lover of many IKEA products, but this isn't one of them.

This is one of the most uncomfortable pieces of furniture to hit the market last year. Absolutely horrendous.
