Luca Glider

2007.03.13.charcoalglider.jpg Maybe we are just sleep deprived, but as soon as we saw this luca glider, all we could think about was curling up in it for a much deserved nap.

It is all about ergonomics today, and this glider has it. Ergonomic arm height for proper baby support while feeding, removable lumbar pillow for extra support, it all sounds good to us, and we like the clean lines and neutral colour choices. We love the motion of gliders, but they aren't usually this stylish!

Of course that style comes at a price...$895.00, to be exact, but Monte Design is offering free shipping right now for the luca glider, and the lumbar pillow, which comes in a number of contrasting colours, is thrown in for free. The charcoal grey with orange pillow is sharp, but there are lots of options to choose from.

I came across the monte website a few months ago and loved the look of the gliders, but there were no stores near us to see it in person. We took a chance and bought the luca glider online from them. Their customer service was amazing, and the chair arrived in a few weeks. It is absolutely beautiful and SOOO comfortable! We are thrilled!
If only shopping for the rest of the nursery was this easy...

Oh how I wish this existed 6 years ago! I never liked the look of the glider I had, and although I used it frequently, I also felt that lumbar support was lacking. Too bad it's out of so many people's price range, but modern mamas with money have so many stylish choices today! In my next life..

I'm having my first baby in three months. Are gliders as good as rockers? Or would you recommend a chair that does both? I really like the way this chair looks. I think the Sleepy Time rocker isn't comfortable enough.

There is another glider by Monte Design, the Low Rider Glider which is very nice too but they don't come with a pillow...
I wish they had it a year ago when I bought mine...

I used modernmini.com and had a HORRIBLE experience. First they double charged my credit card, then they took 1 month to deliver my package and when it arrived it was cracked. When you call in to there customer service they tell you that they have to contact modern mini and they'll get back to you in a day or 2. (what are they sending questions via regular mail?) When i finally got a response from customer service I was told that i had to pay return shipping for the part that was broken and for a replacement. What a rip-off!! I'm contacting the better business bureau. Don't use modern mini buy from any other online manufacturer!!
