Oeuf Mini Library

oeufminilibrary1AT.jpg

We love that Oeuf's Mini Library reminds us of bird houses -- modern, minimal bird houses, that is. This eco-friendly shelving unit (made from recovered wood fibers) is a great addition to any modern nursery.

Oeuf's Mini Library comes in an natural or walnut stain and has beautiful, simple lines that we really enjoy. Whether you use it for books, toys or clothing storage, this piece will easily grow with your child. We're so smitten with this piece, we almost want one for our bedroom!

The Mini Library measures 59" x 42" x 14" and starts at $560.

We have the whole Oeuf set, crib, dresser, mini library. And while I love the way it looks, we have had endless problems with the dresser drawers. I wouldn't recommend this furniture to anyone who is not handy with tools.

We have the Oeuf changing table/dresser, and I am sad to second the poor durability/workmanship impression. If it was an IKEA product (at an IKEA price) I'd be content, but we paid a whole lot more! I keep seeing the cutest Oeuf stuff and passing it by.

I agree with the other posters that the quality of the furniture esp. the dresser is pretty poor. My husband had to reinforce the drawers when the fronts kept falling off. Luckily he is handy.

I completely agree with all the above comments. I also own the whole Oeuf set and have problems with the poor design of the dresser drawers. You are paying designer prices for what essentially is IKEA quality furniture. Heck, even the instruction manuals look like they are from IKEA ... which makes me wonder if the factory that makes these items for Oeuf in Latvia doesn't also do some stuff for IKEA. Even more ironic is that when people come over and see the furniture, they think we got it from Ikea, and when we tell them the real price that we paid, they look at my wife and I like we are bunch of idiots with too much money and not enough sense.

The crib is ok. The dresser has a big problem with the design for the drawers. Essentially the mechanism adhering the underside of the drawer to the drawer is really weak and any bit of weight inside the drawer causes the underside to "pop out". The other big problem I have is with the mini-library. Each horizontal shelf is essentially a thin piece of "plywood" glued onto another piece. When we first got the library, it took a couple of months for the horrible stench of the glue that they used to glue these plywood layers together, to out gas from the room.

You'd walk into the room after the door had been closed for a while and it was like walking into this toxic den of gas.

I actually emailed Oeuf about my concerns and they sent me this nice reply about how their stuff adheres to all the standards, etc. I never heard back from them when I replied with "I am never going to buy an Oeuf product again..."

I really loved the look of their stuff online but when I went to see it in person it just looked like cheap materials and poor construction.

Thanks for these comments...I was considering the mini library, so it's good to know it's not a good value.

i have the mini-library, i love it and have not had the above problems, however i got a crib and changing table that look just like the oeuf set at wal mart for $300 and it seems to be better quality then the oeuf!
