Carlin House Tour at Traditional Home

carlinhousetour-pic1.jpg
Traditional Home recently featured a renovated '50 ranch house, decorated by interior designers Laura Forbes Carlin and Alison Forbes. The home, which Laura shares with her husband Scott, is a great mixture of modern and traditional elements with the seamless addition of children's pieces. We love how it all comes together in this bright and cheery space.

Not only is it beautiful, it is also a great example of what Laura and Alison call "conscious living" as Laura states, "Expectant parents tend to buy all new things with the idea that new equates to safe...But it makes no sense to create a beautiful nursery without considering whether products and materials are potentially harmful."

The wooden Noah's Ark set looks amazing. The original article will make you think about what goes inside baby, toddler and children rooms.

I Love the nursery, but I feel sorry for the kid that is not allowed puke-ugly plastic toys... I only see wooden toys...

Lovely! I'm going to have to grab that issue, as we are trying to renovate our mid-century rancher in a similar way (but so far not getting anywhere close to the beauty here).
We've been purging all our plastic toys and have very few left, but of course anytime our daughter goes to a friend's house the first things she gravitates to are My Little Pony and Barbie.
