Look! Surprise Nursery Designed by Dad

We know from interviewing parents for our Kids' Room and Nursery Tours that lots of dads like getting involved in designing, decorating and diy'ing their baby's and kid's rooms. But how about a surprise nursery wholly created by dad? We saw this beauty at Design Dazzle and were...dazzled!

While some moms and expectant moms probably can't imagine giving up control like this, others might be thrilled for their husbands to take over the responsibility and the work. Grant didn't let his wife see this room for over a month (we'd really like to know if she took a peek!) while he was a busy bee putting it together for their first child, Carter. We love it and so do they: I am very happy with the end result but even happier when I see my wife just sitting in the room looking around and taking it all in.

I'm pretty sure that's the hopen dresser from ikea, I think he painted the drawer fronts white...

Absolutely gorgeous nursery! From which store did you get the moon decal? I had a look online at the store listed but couldn’t find it, would love it for my babies nursery!

Thank you for featuring the nursery "designed by dad" from our website - designdazzle. Grant did such a wonderful job creating a nursery for his son. This room has great potential to become a Design Dazzler "Room of the Month"....

Thank you everyone for the comments!!! I'm soooo happy to see that the room is appreciated by others. Our baby, "Carter" was born 4/21 so we have been very busy the last few weeks just taking it all in. So thanks again and maybe one day we'll finish the rest of the house!

Good job, Papa! You might want to look at the crib bumper post here on OhDeeDoh. I just read it and it was super eye-opening. I think it's quite old but I found it through a search.
