Mini Nursery Tour: Bruno's Room to Grow

We recently featured Michelle's Nature Baby Fabric Collection here on Ohdeedoh, and now she's given us a sneak peak inside her son Bruno's room including all of its interesting angles and plenty of ways to transform into a big boy room.

The house really inspired me - it's a Cape Cod style and the little nooks give it a quaint feel and I wanted to include some of the whimsy from that decor. But also, I'm a modern mommy with clean lined sensibilities, so we threw in a little of that, too.

2008-12-12-bookshelf.jpgThe room itself was designed to be a nursery- and will ultimately grow to a teen's room, since we have no plans to ever move these days. We wanted it to have ample closet space and room for a bed and full dresser.

2008-12-12-dresser.jpg It has a daybed now, which has been a real life saver for nighttime feedings and daytime naps. Also, we have a dresser in there that used to be mine, so that has ample room for a growing child. The crib will eventually go, leaving space for a little work area or desk as he gets older.

2008-12-12-nook.jpg The little nook area is my favorite thing about the room. Also the crawl space where I envision a little fort someday... also that the room has so many corners and angles.

Well done Michelle. Bruno's room is a cheerful and eclectic space that he'll enjoy for many years to come.
Be sure to check out Michelle's lovely shop on Etsy for more inspiration.

First, the room looks great. I loved the color choices. Second, where did you get that daybed? I have been looking for a daybed for my nursery for about a month now and the only one I've found with clean lines like the one in your picture is from West Elm and they've stopped carrying it.Thank you!

Hi! Thanks for the comments. The daybed is from West Elm. We got it about 4 years ago.

Very well done! I love the subdued color scheme. Where did you find the crib and changing table? They're adorable.

Erica- the crib and changing table are Jenny Lind style both by DaVinci. I'm not really sure where it was purchased, but they are very affordable- and airy.

Delilah- The postcard carousel is from Pottery Barn (online)- not sure if it's still an item they carry.

What a beautiful room! Do you remember where you got the gorgeous blue and green rug next to the crib?

Love the room. I have the crib (30 yrs old) in walnut, and I'm very tempted to paint it white!
