Peering inside this pink haven, we just feel good. Marla left a comment about Josephine's room on one of our previous posts, and we had to check it out. She documents the evolution of the room on her blog, The Domestic Vernacular. Not only is the design original, but it didn't cost a ton of money. Marla's tagline on her blog says, "I'm not a decorator - I just play one on my blog." We disagree Marla!

The bed is from Ikea. and Marla found the bedding at Winners, and its American Counterpart, TJ Maxx. One of her tips for you readers- "Throws are often less expensive and more interesting than bedspreads, and fit kids' beds very nicely!"

The table next to the bed was $25 at Winkel, and was used in the backyard before it found its way to Josie's room. The faux-marble formica top didn't quite cut it though, so it was covered in brown gingham oilcloth.

Here's the carpet that actually inspired this pretty room.

"Things that I've had for years, random items waiting for the perfect place in our home have ended up here," Marla writes. She told us that the room ended up a little more shabby chic than she would've liked, but her original aim was "lost and found."

Marla's favorite part of the room? The little girl in it of course. "You have no idea how wonderful it is to hear her chirping little voice coming out of it. To peek in, and see her playing in there with her trusty slobberhound sitting nearby sets my heart a-fluttering."

Thank you Marla for this inspiring room.

I don't have kids but I swear the nursery section of AT has the best color schemes.
