About her design style, Eve says:
"I wanted to be able to design V's room without sacrificing our aesthetics. I didn't want anything too adult or stuffy, but I also didn't want some Strawberry Shortcake nightmare...I was really into the idea of doing a Vernor Panton sort of style, using swirly oranges and hot pinks, feminine but not frou-frou." We think Eve has been quite successful.

While the entire room is quite cohesive and the pieces compliment each other well, it's the fabulous pendant lamp which brings everything together. Of it, Eve says: "The lighting fixture is a Norm 03 designed by Britt Kornum, and it is very reasonable -- sold unassembled. It took my husband about six hours to create it, but it casts shadows that mimic the pattern of the wallpaper on the ceiling!"

Other pieces in the room include Veronika's cool white rocker, a Vitra Tom Rock chair by Ron Arad. Eve adds a definite playful element to the chair by adding a red, fuzzy throw pillow on it. The quirky ride-on duck is from the Scandinavian company Playsam and for the nursery floor, Flor carpet tiles were used, which Eve thinks, "...are genius because they can be washed if something should spill on them." So true!

"The orange shelves are from Design Within Reach, and I chose them because I wanted V to be able to reach her toys and be able to put them and her books away, empowering her because she can tidy up herself." Well, we are certainly down with that.

Eve and her husband collect vinyl figures, which V is the lucky recipient of. The majority of her figurines come from Kid Robot, and the crowning piece is a Blythe doll on display in a Lucite box.

With all the neat things in her room to explore and examine, Veronika will need somewhere to sit. The kid-sized Bunny Junior table and chairs from DWR fit the job perfectly.

The little details throughout the room are consistent with the boldness of it: the silver electrical plate, the beehive mirror, the fuzzy throw pillows, and the side table lit from within which works double-duty as it also serves as a night light.

Eve expressed how she, "...wanted a room [Veronika] could grow into and that she wouldn't get sick of before she was five." We think she accomplished that. Great job, Eve.
