Our Room: Parker and Landon
Morocco

Travelingmama tells us about putting together this wonderful room for her two sons: Around the same time that we moved into our new house last year we found out that we were having another boy. I was faced with the challenge of creating a room that was appropriate for a four year old and a newborn. My son, Parker, loves cars so I knew I wanted to include SOME cars, but I didn't want to room to be all "matchy" and "themey." Finding household items is very difficult here in Morocco...

...(and SO expensive!) so I would plan out my shopping trips to IKEA, Habitat, and ZaraHome for months prior to going to Spain or beg family to bring certain items (like the pillow shams from Pottery Barn and the BLIK stickers!) I also added some character from Morocco with the custom made iron bed and coordinating poufs. Parker thought it was SO cool that his baby brother had a pouf just like him! Please feel free to stop by my blog for more about our family and the boys' room!

Thanks, Travelingmama!

Hey Lesley! You can find iron beds like the one we had made here at IKEA, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, and Restoration Hardware. Happy Shopping!

We live in the middle east and I KNOW how hard it is to find cool decor - so congrats on a beautiful room!

Thanks so much for the encouraging comments! I made the "mobile" behind the bed with paper and modge podge. There is a tutorial on my blog here:

Also, the orange blanket is from IKEA!

What color paint did you use? It looks great with the orange.

I think it's a great look. Where did you get the stuffed animal on the window seat?

i really like the beanbag chairs/stools. where did you get them from? they would be the perfect addition to our baby's room to kick up our feet in the rocking chair or for the little one to climb on when he gets older. :)
