Inspired by all the nursery tours on Ohdeedoh, Rick sent us an e-mail hoping to return the favor, "My wife and I just finished adding a nursery in our Master Bedroom. I hope the pictures will be helpful to people out there looking for inspiration. I even have a before and after for a changing table we found at a garage sale."
Take the full tour after the jump...
We love how Hagen's crib fits seamlessly in with the rest of the room's decor. At the focal point of the "Master Nursery" is a groovy little dot mural which sets the tone and palette for the rest of the space. Rick tells us more about the room in the survey below...

Inspiration: The inspiration for the wall came from a coaster that I use on my night stand.
Favorite Element: Our hand me down rocking chair.
Biggest Challenge: Staying within a tight budget.
What Friends Say: "How did you paint all of those circles?" I let them think I did. Thanks, Dottilicious!
Proudest DIY:The changing table came from a garage sale. I sanded it, painted it and added great new hardware all for $100.

Biggest indulgence: We went a little high end for the bedding, but it was a great fit.
Best advice: Try to balance baby space and your space. Make sure baby and parents are extremely organized.
Dream source: I am sure I could do some serious damage in Pottery Barn.

This is really nice -- and I appreciate seeing a shared room. When my first baby was born, he was in our room with us. Everyone asked me what "theme" my nursery was!

I love that I can see your 20 day old baby in the crib. Tiny little thing! I also shared room with my newborn as we lived in a one bedroom apartment. At first I was disappointed that I don't get to decorate a nursery, but when the baby was born, I realized I would go insane if the baby was in another room and I was going back and forth each time she woke up. To tell the truth I still share the room with my 1 year old, and we ended up making a co-sleeper by taking one wall of the crib down and connecting it to our bed. It's just easier that way. Hopefully she'll move out soon though. Thanks for this post for showing that you can still make it look good when sharing rooms with your baby.

The wall stickers are so fun and chic at the same time. Your bed posts look fabulous too.
Like Lisa above, none of my children have ever had a nursery and always shared with us so it's really great to see how you've integrated the nursery nook in such a stylish way.

Very nice, and I love how you recycled an old changing table to match. They can be expensive and really don't get used all that long.
Even if we had many extra bedrooms, my baby would have slept in our room for her first six or eight months of life. I was raised that way, it feels natural to me to have the baby close, although she sleeps in her crib nearby, not in our bed. But now she's getting older (she's eight months) and we need to move her out to her own room.

Great chair -- and the circles look like her dreams floating up from her crib.

Hi! My friend sent me your link and said "there is another Hagen in the world". My 14 mo. son is named Hagen. Wondering how you arrived at your name for your baby g. We found it in a book that my parents used to name my brothers and me. It was written in 1950. Anyway, I noticed the name, but kept it to myself. A few nights later, my husband was looking thru it and said "I like the name Hagen." I said "So do I!!!" So, that was that!

Amanda, our Hagen is actually a girl and her 2 year old big sister is named Palmer. To say I am a golf fan would be a HUGE understatement! Both girls are named after two legendary players of the game. Walter Hagen and Arnold Palmer are the influential name sakes. When we were throwing out names for the kids, I was very surprised that my wife approved these for girls. I just hope the girls won’t be too upset that they are named after men. Congrats to you and your husband on Hagen. It is very cool to know that is another one out there. Maybe they paths will cross one day.
