We know that when it comes to room decor and clothes, boys often get the fuzzy end of the lolly pop. As the mother of a boy, when we found Wille's room we took notice and made mental notes for future reference. What a great teen room!

Take the full tour after the jump...

Wille's mom, Benita, put a lot of thought and effort in his space. It is a laid back cool room that reflects his childhood, while embracing his teendom. Wille's space is a place where Simpson Pez collections can feel at home next to an Eames chair. Several clever DIY items round out the look. Benita tells us more...

Inspiration: We wanted a world map so all three of us could all mark with pins where we’ve been in the world. Wille’s room had a good spot for it and the rest of the travel and map items just accumulated in there after that, they were originally in other places around the house.

Favorite Element: The Eames shell chair, definitely!

Biggest Challenge: Working around the existing built in wardrobes. It’s a good spot for the bed but doesn’t really allow for many options when it comes to rearranging furniture.

What Friends Say: Wille has a lot of great stuff in his room but I don’t think it’s the décor his friends are interested in, it’s the gadgets.

Proudest DIY: Wille needed a new desk and he was very much involved in the design and function of the desk we ended up building for him. He loves it and we’re pretty excited that it turned out so well.

Biggest indulgence: Again the Eames shell chair. It’s worth every penny, good looking and comfortable!

Best advice: Ask your teen what he or she needs and likes, provide lots of storage and a comfortable bed. Take an afternoon and purge out grown stuff; toss, donate and safe keep.

Dream source: No source in particular but I’d love to add more classic designer pieces which Wille can continue to enjoy later on in life, such as an Angelpoise lamp, hang it all hanger etc.

Wow! Love it.

(p.s. I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen a Swedish design feature that I HAVEN'T liked.)

Yah! We are moving continents and I have a 15 year old boys room to decorate. I hope for more teen rooms AND shared rooms for little ones (4 year old girl and 6 year old boy)

Simpsons. Globes. Guitars. Maps. Bourne Identity. Architecture wood blocks. Mini Coopers. This is probably my husband's dream room.

This boy has great style!

Can we get info on the cupboard doors? Is that paint, linen, lino? I'm picturing its fabric covered cork inset into the door frames, yeah?

Teen? None of the teen boys I know (15-18 yrs) would live in there. It looks more like a teen girl's or a 'tween boy's room.

Kushkush, jealous much? Clearly this is a mature and fun room and clearly you are neither.

Very fresh and "worldly". I have designed quite a few teenage boys rooms and would like to encourage the clean lines and less clutter look. I know it was prepped for photography, but at least the room has plenty of storage for all the kids stuff.
