I don't have the heart to throw out all of the baby food jars.
I was thinking of using them for some sort of craft project or great storage solution.
Does anyone have any great ideas? I don't mind holding onto them until my 8 month old daughter is old enough to create something with them.
I was thinking they are great for paints... anything else?

My mother-in-law created a Christmas tree out of the old baby food jars she had from when my husband was little. She glued (I assume hot glue) them together in the shape of a tree with the bottom of the jar as the front of the tree. Then she punched a hole in the lid (which is the back of the tree) and put a small Christmas tree light through each hole. It's really cute and she still puts it out every year. I found a link to one and this is essentially what it looks like: http://crafts.kaboose.com/baby-food-jar-christmas-tree.html

I would also consider contacting a playschool/preschool/daycare in your area and seeing if they could use them.

Sounds lovely... but we're Jewish! ;)
I'm thinking a Menorah would be great.... but that will only use 9 on them!!!

We found a project in ReadyMade magazine a few years back making snow globes out of baby food jars. We used waterproof glue from Michael's and glued small plastic animals or toys to the inside lid, filled the jar with water and glitter and sealed them together with the glue. They were great presents and have lasted us almost 3 years!
