My Room: Lila Sage
I need advice on the color scheme for my daughters' room. I'm considering this duvet color in lavender.

In person it's a lot more purple though (a pretty purple, not Barney purple).
Originally I was thinking of doing the walls grey and keeping the room soft & sophisticated. My girls are 5 & 2 though so I think i want to keep it a little younger looking. I like a mix of vintage & modern. Most of my house is kind of neutral with colorful accessories. I'm really stuck on the wallcolor. The room is currently sage and I don't like it at all. I also want to stay away from pink on the wall. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I think gray would be a great look--with the caveat that you'd want to pick a gray-white, rather than actual gray, unless the room is south-facing and gets an incredible amount of light. For a more gray-reading gray, I'd stick to trim, maybe, or perhaps the wall under a chair rail--gray sucks up a lot of light and makes the room very cool and dark-feeling. If the girls play in there during the day, gray could be very overpowering.
There are some beautiful grays, gray-whites, and puttys in the Aura paints from Benjamin Moore. I like this combination:

Dear ElizabethA,
Have you considered a soft yellow? A color like Friendly Yellow or Lantern Yellow (both from Sherwin-Williams) would be a great complementary color to the bedding. It would also create a warm & inviting, girly space for your daughters.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies! I did consider yellow and think it would be beautiful but two factors make me reconsider. Their furniture is an antiqued ivory (not sure how that would look) and the majority of my house is already painted a soft yellow. I should get swatches to hold up to the furniture just to see.
I guess my worry with grey is that I'll pick the wrong one and i do want the room to stay bright & light.
