I want to buy a Like A Bike for my son, but they're so expensive. While researching further I found that there are many similar "pre-bike" bikes available at a range of prices. Now I'm just overwhelmed. Is the Like A Bike better functionally, or am I paying for design. Can anyone shed light on the basic pros and cons of each? - Justine

Target makes a knock off version of the Like A Bike right now (we call it our Like-A-Like-A-Bike!). It costs around $49 and is practically identical. I purchased ours in late April. Like you, I loved the Like A Bike, but couldn't justify the price. I was also worried that I would be paying just for design, but it does work. We have noticed our son picking his feet up and gliding, turning, etc. (he's four, and he's also a very cautious kid, so it surprised us to see him lift his feet with such confidence). It's his favorite toy, played with multiple times daily. Last weekend we rode our Like-A-Like-A-Bike to a high end toy store that had a real Like A Bike in the window. Even the store owner thought that it was a Like A Bike, and when compared side by side, they are the exact same size, etc. Highly recommended, hours of enjoyment! It's toward the end of the toy area in their "summerish" section of wooden toys and cool sand toys, and is made by the same name that makes their wooden kitchens.
