With a toddler running around the house I really want to save my beautiful dining table from completely getting dinged :(
Our coffee table has got a fair share of it !!
Any recommendations on nice modern tablecloths that don't look too frumpy ?

urboo: I don't know about your toddler, but mine will just pull a tablecloth off the table and throw it on the floor. Plus, if they do that, anything on the tablecloth will come crashing down. Just a thought...

Other than that, a simple, white linen tablecloth, ironed very crisp is always a nice look.

I'm in the process of purchasing a double stroller and have been eyeing the Phil & Teds Sport and E3 models.

I love the fact that they are so compact, recline enough for a newborn and can easily be converted to a single or double.
Does anyone have any experience with them? I'm mostly concerned about maneuverability and comfort for the riders.

I do not want to repeat the mistake I made with my first stroller and purchase one that looked attractive but didn't last 6 months.

I appreciate any advice before spending almost $500 on a lemon!

B/c our apartment is small, we have a bassinet for our 7 week old (no crib yet). I'd like to get a mobile for the bassinet, but all the ones that I've seen which attach to cribs seem like they might be too heavy for a bassinet. Does anyone know of a lightweight mobile that could be attached to a bassinet?

Stephg - I'm not sure how you would attach it to a bassinet, but the Flensted mobiles are very lightweight. My favorite is the sheep, but they're all interesting.

re: stroller - if you haven't checked out the BOB, you might want to give it a look, just for kicks, before you buy one. they are fantastic for steering, fold up, quick release wheels, etc. they are a tiny bit big for tight spaces when shopping, but steer like a dream. a really good dream with ice cream and free time.

re: mobiles - since mobiles (in my book) are such fun and ultimately a great bit of entertainment for the tiny people, could you make a nice looking mobile stand (wood, or repurpose a floor lamp or some such) for the mobiles that you will have? hang it from the ceiling? in any case my thought was solve the attachment issue instead of not getting the mobile that you'd like.
