I already posted a comment on the Map mural post, but its probably more appropriate here...

Anyone have paint colour suggestions for a tiny bedroom (6x8') that has one wall with a map mural on it?

The room is basically a simple twin bed with turquoise/blue/green duvel cover and a white, counter height desk with a white stool. The map is going to be on the wall running the length of the bed.

Its a pretty dark room - what colour paint do you think would look good with the mural? I don't think we want to put any more blue or green in there. What about going for the complementary colour of orange? Would that be insane? Or should I go simpler and cleaner with a shade of white? Or something else?

Hmm, bagel could be interesting. Its kind of "tan" from what I can see on my computer, I'll have to look in the stores.

Thanks! :)

donald kaufman's DKC 45

hard to describe, because it is a full-spectrum paint (which I recommend you use in a small dark space), but it has some yellow and green in it

we've used it in a similar small space, and get tons of compliments on it -- when my son is older, we will be putting up a map mural too.

as for shipping things to Canada, we always have stuff shipped to the closest UPS store in the US, and do a run down to pick up our stuff. Much, much cheaper (CanadaPost is ridiculously expensive).

Thanks Monika - and thanks for the tip about shipping it to a UPS store then picking it up.

My mom did a map room for her visiting grandkids in her house. Her walls are very cute...white up to the top of the window frames and green above. Where the two colors meet she stapled antique travel postcards all round the room (well, not on the wall with the map mural). She also has vintage globes on display. The carpet is a light beige. The kids love it, especially because she found postcards of places that she's actually been to, so they enjoy asking her about those places and looking at the postcards.
