Hello! I am new to ohdeeoh (expecting baby boy #1 in May). I am looking for a smallish rocker/glider and although the room is going to have a more traditional feel, I don't really love the traditional (smaller) rockers I've seen out there. Any suggestions? Hope this is the right place to pose this question. Thanks! :)

Can anyone comment on whether or not I should get a cushion for our Tripp Trapp chair? Not sure if its necessary for comfort, or just something additional to clean!

I have a question. :)

I am looking for a plain white box crib skirt! Everything is either ruffly or has other colors on it. I found one online that was 69.00...which is just a *bit* out of my price range! ;) Isn't there something basic out there??

Thanks Ohdeedoh!

Lauraloupa,
We don't have this chair but I've sat in it and it is really really comfortable. The arms are low so thay are supportive yet don't interfere with baby when you're nursing. I also really like that there are no moving parts on it like a glider.
It's eq3 but I don't see it on their site anymore.

justem,
How about etsy? You can request items as well.

jcpoodle,
Skip the cushion...it will get grungy fast. We've had no complaints in nearly three years of cushion-less dining with our daughter.

justem,
You could also ask at your local fabric store. Often there will be someone who works there who does custom orders on the side.

My vote is skip the cushion. Our 14 month daughter has had no problem sitting in the Tripp Trapp without the cushion. I do recommend the white plastic rail if your child is very young. I found that our daughter kind of slid around when she was first using the chair and that kept her in place a little better. Was temporary and haven't used it for a while now, but was good to have at the time.

I have a white box pleat crib skirt from Pottery Barn Kids. We are not using it anymore if you want to buy it. Email me at ktallsn@yahoo.com.

jcpoodle:

I would recommend the seat cushion and baby rail. We started baby #2 in the Tripp Trapp at 5 months and at that young age, I wouldn't have gone without either. Once a week we just throw the cushion cover into the wash. Hope that helps!

Thanks everyone for the cushion advice! I am so excited to get the chair together and in use - I know we'll love it. Baby is just 6 mos., so we'll try it for a week or so with just the rail, and see how slippery he ends up to be! If I need a cushion to keep him in place, I am not opposed.

Laura, we have the Monte Luca glider in our nursery and I just LOVE it. It's smaller than most we looked at and very comfy (I am still feeding my now 1 year old there each night). It's a little more contemporary, but definitely a piece that would fit in the rest of most houses well. You can see it in my son's room here:

Good luck!

I would buy the cushion for a young infant. Personally, I would probably buy a booster for such a young infant. The trip trap is really designed for an older child.

Hi! I am trying to get my hands on a Wise Owl Lamp from Urban Outfitters (the white ceramic mod lamp):
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&navAction=jump&id=12754784&search=true&color=11

But, alas! they no longer have them in stock. If anyone has one of these lamps that they no longer need, I would be very happy to buy it from you.

Thanks!

I put our baby in the stokke chair at around 9 months. I went without the cushion, to make the chair easier to wipe down. Even though we used the baby bjorn bibs with the "pocket" there was always dried milk, bits of applesauce, etc. everywhere. The cushion would have been a mess.

Does anyone know where I can find a solid green round area rug for our new nursery? I feel as if I have seen them on Ohdeedoh before, but I can't find anything in the archives. I'm looking for something that will coordinate with the MiGi Splash valances we have. Thanks!
