apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Organization Projects By Martha

Like most city-dwellers, most of the rooms in our home do double and triple duty. The dining table is a hub of activity - the crayons and fingerpaints have to be put away to make way for lunch and then the playdough comes out after naptime. The use of a simple canvas shoe organizer would make an attractive and inexpensive way to store everything when not in use.

The project was meant to help organize the backseat of a car but we think it would look great hanging on a wall or over a door.

Another way to create a designated area within an area? Try this study center fashioned from cardboard. It's easy to set up and even easier to put away. Use it to help young ones focus on homework and art projects.

my mother made some over-the-car-seat pockets like that for long car trips - brilliant. One for my brother and one for me - she let us decorate them with fabric markers and we used them for books, toys and coloring for the road. Such a good idea for anywhere.

How about using some cute Amy Butler fabric to create either project and then entering the contest?
