Playgrounds from the '70s

Hanging out in local playgrounds is pretty much a daily event for me and my kiddos. We try to mix it up by visiting different parks, but there's a certain ho-hum sameness to the new-but-slightly-uninspired equipment. Maybe if just one park was a bit like these circa-1970s playgrounds we spotted at Divine Caroline...

Well, okay, I'm pretty sure I'd have a heart attack if I saw my kids in the contraption in photo #2. And I'm not quite sure what's up with the Officer Big Mac cage. (Waiting to jail the Hamburgler?) But still, these are pretty fun to look at. And these are just five images from a three-page post that contains dozens more. Be sure to check them all out at Divine Caroline.

Ah ha ha! I'm dying here. My first French kiss was inside one of those Hamburglar jails in the seventh grade.

Oh, yes! We had a park near our house with piece in photo #1 - we called it Robot Park, of course...good memories!

We played in the space cruiser when we were kids! I called it the Star Trek Park!

Oh the Hamburglar! I broke my leg playing on one when I was 7.

I loved the hamburger one. I have fond memories of playing in one and getting hamburgers with my grandparents.
