A glaze was used over the top of the current dark grey wall color in combination with a stencil to give the walls this spooky, fun look. They are only noticeable when the light hits them (our pictures were taken with flash so you could see them in detail) and could be the perfect compromise to what Moms and Dads want and what kids would like to see on their walls.

Glazing is super simple and works just like regular paint and although it might make you think of late 90's Trading Spaces episodes, it's a great look in this instance. Make stripes or large polka dots, squirrels or an entire zoo without creating the visual chaos that some graphics or paints can give you!

Not into glaze? The same effect can be had by using the same shade of paint but in a high gloss instead of matte, although typically a glaze medium will run a bit cheaper than a separate full gallon of paint!
