Look! Striped Nursery Ceiling

2008-10-27-domino2.jpg

Since it's Color Month, we thought you'd appreciate this striped ceiling - a perfect example to show that you don't have to paint your walls to add a big splash of color.

The nursery belongs to Beckett, son of J. Crew creative director Jenna Lyons, and is one room in a stunning 1890 Brooklyn brownstone (see the full tour at Domino). We didn't see the name of the daring bluish wall color listed, but the ceiling is done in Yolk and White Wisp (both Benjamin Moore).

We also love the mismatched letters spelling out Beckett's name which suits the age of the house and which he won't outgrow anytime soon.

very cool - I love the ceiling and you definitely need those bright colors with the dark wall in there.

very cool.

the first picture looked like black to me, and I like that black chest on the black wall. I painted 2 walls in my son's room black, and really like the effect.

Saw this yesterday in my domino magazine. The black paint is actually chalkboard paint from Benjamin Moore. I love the look!

Ceiling decoration is a great idea for a young child's room to spark his/her imagination while lying in the crib:-)

Even with the bright yellow stripes, there is something about this room that just feels joyless and sad.

i love the chalkboard wall... and the ceiling, is very interesting, i even like the dresser... except for those handles they would have to be removed and replaced w/something that wasn't sharp until after our son was past his everything in the mouth stage.... which maybe why despite the things i like... overall... i dont like this, it feels cold to me. not warm the way i'd want a baby's room to be...
