• We love seeing reading spaces, and this one from Nesting Place really looks inviting. It's original purpose was a closet under the stairs. We love how the "Nester" calls it the "Secret Reading Room."

I love the idea of using the space under the stairs for a cozy reading/study area for the kids. Maybe it's the inspiration I need to clean out that area of all the clutter -- Christmas decorations, jackets, shoes, toys, you name it, it's there!

I played around with the height calculator - first to estimate my daughter's height, then my mother's and finally my own. What was interesting was that they nailed my mother's height dead on: her father is 6'2" and her mother is 5' which supposedly makes her 5'4.5". Wow. However, they tanked at mine: my supposed height is 5'5" and in reality I am 5'9". The Height Calculator is a fun toy, but that is it and parents should give it no extra weight.
