Designers, graphic or otherwise, may be familiar with the Photo-Lettering Library (PLINC) but you don't have to be (or learn more here). All you need to know is that these are some seriously beautiful blocks. Sold by House Industries, a set of 12 is $35. They're made from kiln-dried basswood and printed with child-safe inks.

Beautiful as they are, all the varied fonts would be confusing to children just learning the alphabet. They should be exposed to simple (sans serif) type at first.
